It is finally the time of year for the biggest awards in music The Grahammy's! This week the winners will are crowned and those receiving awards can have their careers changed forever. Many of these artists see this award as their assent to the top of their field.

Lucy Ducas - Dancing in the Dark
I think that this cover does justice to the original and manages not to ruin it. I also think that switching the gender of the singer makes more a more enjoyable cover because it has enough differences to justify not just listening to the original every time instead.

This song is the one that had me most blown away by an artist I had no expectations for. Sometimes you listen to a song for the first time and your only reaction is “Holy Shit”.

Ezra Furman - I Wanna Be Your Girlfriend
This song follows Ezra’s journey with gender identity, desperately wanting to be in a relationship with someone but not feeling that his transition to being a woman is complete enough for the person he loves.

Bruce Springsteen - Stones
This is the one song from this year that I just can’t help singing along to. It just has that quality about it that you can’t quite put your finger on but know that it will be with you for along time.

Cigarettes After Sex - Cry
This is the album I listened to by far the most this year. Sometimes it is just that simple. I had a hard time choosing this album as I felt that it wasn’t as strong as their last album, but I also felt that way about a couple of the other nominees.
