For the band The Who’s first album in 13 years Pete Townshed wrote a rap that he wanted performed on the album. Luckily frontman Roger Daltrey refused to perform it saying “if I did it, it would be laughable”.

Working in collaboration with James Taylor and Joni Mitchell, her second album was a massive success. As with many folk albums she covered a few classic songs and managed to make them her own. Each track has a timeless quality to it but also has a feeling of the early seventies in which is was born. This was the most successful female album of all time and held that record for over 20 years. She has many more songs that topped the charts but were performed by other artists showcasing her songwriting ability.
