Man Who Fell
David Bowie’s 1976 film The Man Who Fell to Earth is being remade into a TV Series for CBS All Access. CBS All Access is definitely the best spot for remaking some of Bowie’s work with their other classic successful series and people knowing that CBS All Access is a thing. The good thing it has going for it is that no one has ever made a bad attempt to grab money from a recently departed star’s estate by exploiting all the things he was associated with. This certainly won’t be a disappointment or embarrassment. I’m sure they will find someone better than Bowie to play an Alien landed on earth.

The self-titled debut album came with a unique sound and with unique recording locations. The album was recorded in a barn and two different basements giving different songs different sounding drums. The band’s name was also slapped together, named after a failed horror movie idea staring lead vocalist Ezra Koenig that never made it past the trailer. With the name taken from another unrelated project, the songs recorded anywhere they could, and the cover art using a picture taken from one of their early shows this album comes together in all the ways you would hope an early album would.
